What is a good investment for neurosurigical anatomy book?

What do you guys think of Operative Neurosurgical Anatomy (Hardcover) by Anthony J. Caputy

I’m trying to brush up on neuroanatomy for my 4th year Sub-I’s. Or should I dust off my Netter’s from first year and go through the brain sections?

Thanks for your suggestions!

the caputy book is more aimed at residents.  the neuroanatomy that i usually torture students with is from their first two years of med school.

The best book, hands down, for surgical anatomy of the brain is the Rhoton book. It’s a compilation of all the red journal supplements from the late 90’s as well as some new stuff. Check with your local Zeiss rep (once you’re matched), they may have an inside line on some free copies.

Netter provides an anatomist’s view of anatomy, not a surgeon’s. The stuff from the first two years of medical school is excellent for tormenting students, but it is uncommon that we are called on to know which tract is the lateral vestibulospinal or whatever (except on the boards).
