Apparently the medical school office just forwarded the sub-I requests to the department and they’re being processed now.

The official word from the VSAS site was that they would schedule people 2 months prior to the requested elective. However, I was surprised to hear back a month ago about a rotation for August/September. I don’t know why and have no idea what that means. VSAS says there are typically 4 spots per rotation, so maybe they filled spots in waves?

this is a great question...can someone give a sense of how this works?
Hypothermic Arrest - 03 May 2010 08:01 PM My schedule would only allow for a two week rotation. Would it be enough time to get a letter and have a general understanding of the ins and outs of the program?

I did a Sub-I there last year. I think 2 weeks would be sufficient to form a good impression of the place. Spend a week on Dr. Jane’s service so he gets to know you, and the other week rotating through various other attendings’ clinics and ORs.

Many comments in UH about UVa....it seems a great program.
My question for people who did Sub-I at UVa...Were you able to change the dates since UVa calendar is different than mine ?
