I have heard from attending neurosurgeons that ObamaCare seems certain to screw over the average patient.  How about the neurosurgery perspective?

I think it would be interesting to hear the results of a poll that asked the following questions:  (of course it would be even more interesting to hear from the subcategories of a. practicing neurosurgeons b. residents c. medical students mulling this over d. football players who could be eligible for the NFL draft but want to pursue NS instead)

1. I think NS practice here is superior to other Western countries with single-payer medical systems.  This probably should be asked in terms of the Ted Kennedy (price is no object, although these patients exist and can find special care anywhere in the world), Joe sixpack (let’s say he is hanging onto at GM and may or may not have a job in a year, but he will have the choice of private insurance or to buy COBRA), and the uninsured with a jackpot surgery/hospital bill (I could be an idiot 34 y.o. with the means to buy insurance or a 4 y.o. with idiot parents).  Anyway, who takes NS practice bar none in the States or in Brussels/Marseilles/Vienna/Frankfurt/Milan/Stockholm?

2.  I agree with the conspiracy theories (any of them!) Obama is trying to cover up the birth certificate issue (heard in the OR).  Obama is pursuing an essentially Nazi agenda (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_080609/content/01125106.guest.html) The crazier the better, and NRA4LIFE I’m looking at you!

3.  We have a) too much b) just right c) not enough spinal surgeries.  Careful, your answer changes the next few decades of your specialty!
